The purpose of the Foundation of the Texas Telephone Association, Inc. (TTA Foundation) is to develop and utilize necessary resources through the receipt of gifts and/or grants that foster greater understanding of telephony and further its advancement as a career choice.
Education and Research
The objectives of the Foundation are to foster greater understanding–by the public sector–of the importance to the Texas economy of a reliable, efficient telecommunications infrastructure; to educate and inform the public regarding the products and services that make up the telecommunications infrastructure; to promote continued education and research in the field of telephony; and to promote the field of telephony as a professional career choice.
These objectives will be accomplished through the sponsoring and/or promotion of lectures, seminars, and other instructional endeavors, as well as, the granting of scholarships to individuals in support of technological and educational advances in the field of telephony.
The Foundation was created by the TTA Board of Directors in November 1992 with the objective to “look beyond traditional sources of revenue from dues and fees to find extraordinary funding for worthwhile endeavors.”
The Foundation received its corporate charter in April 1993 to operate as a separate non-profit corporation in the State of Texas. Formal approval has been given by the IRS for designation as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
As a public foundation, the Foundation may receive tax-deductible contributions from individuals, corporations, trusts and other entities. These resources in turn will go 100% toward accomplishing the Foundation’s goals and objectives.
The Texas Telephone Association Foundation, Inc. is not directly supported by TTA member dues. All contributions are used to promote the Foundation and to fund designated programs as stated by its objectives. Your contribution is gratefully appreciated and may also be tax deductible as a charitable contribution.
