I’m a tax partner with Curtis Blakely & Co., PC. We provide monthly bookkeeping for TTA and provide tax and accounting services for many member companies.
What’s your best habit, and one you wish you could change?
Pfeffer: More of a characteristic than a habit but being competitive, I can tend to be over-competitive at times and lose enjoyment.
What helps you get creatively “unstuck”?
Pfeffer: Taking a deep breath (at least that is what my watch says).
Who do you admire and why?
Pfeffer: My dad who was very giving, calm, compassionate, and fun to be around.
What buzzword could you live without?
Pfeffer: All of them. (What’s a buzzword?)
How do you like to relax?
Pfeffer: Playing golf or working in the yard.
Is there a favorite book you’d recommend?
Pfeffer: No, who has time to read.
What advice are you glad you ignored?
Pfeffer: Having another drink.
How did you choose your career?
Pfeffer: It runs in the family. My father was an accountant and my brother and sister, who are both older, are CPA’s.
What’s you WFH uniform?
Pfeffer: I tell everybody my birthday suit, but really shorts and a t-shirt.
Any favorite object in your office?
Pfeffer: CPA certificate and diploma from Texas A&M.
Do you have quote or saying you try to live by?
Pfeffer: The Golden Rule – Treat others the way you want to be treated.
Favorite social media accounts or websites?
Pfeffer: I try to stay off social media but will occasionally look at Facebook and will get on ESPN to view scores.
What personally has gotten you through the COVID-19 pandemic so far?
Pfeffer: My wife and son.
Top 3 activities that bring you joy.
Pfeffer: Spending time with family, playing golf, and working in the yard.

What are you looking forward to doing in 2021?
Pfeffer: Traveling and taking a couple vacations, but not sure where yet.
