TTA Board Update September 2020

Update from Your Executive Director

Thanks to all of you who participated in our TXConnect TTA Membership Summit, either in person or virtually.

At the summit, I announced four new initiatives to benefit our members:

When we made the decision to alter the format of our summit to include a virtual platform, we had to cancel some of the panel discussions planned for our live meetings. We have moved those panel discussions to a later date/time and will stream them virtually to everyone who registered for the TXConnect summit. (More information coming to you soon.)

Later this month you will get an invitation to join us for the first TXConnect Virtual broadcast, which will include a panel discussion and other valuable content. We intend to offer TXConnect Virtual content each month going forward. Please feel free to send us suggestions for topics for our monthly discussions.

After discussions with some of our member company managers, TTA will launch TXConnect Regional events across the state. These TXConnect Regional meetings will gather several companies in each area of our state for lunch, an update on TTA initiatives, and a roundtable discussion of telecommunications issues that matter most to you! We will explore administrative issues, technical learnings, transformational challenges, or any other subjects y’all want to discuss. We will invite our companies in the area to bring their managers and supervisors, so we can have some social time and brainstorm how our companies can help each other.

Lastly, we will be making some changes to the TTA website,, to implement a secure member company portal. The members-only portion of our site, TXConnect Virtual, will house a message board for all member company employees to access, information about ongoing legislative and regulatory matters, business and industry news, and links to resources important to our industry.

Both the TXConnect Virtual and TXConnect Regional concepts came from several company leaders I’ve connected with during my short time at TTA. Our organization is member-driven, so suggestions from you are more than welcome. We aim to be proactive in helping you and your team members succeed. Send along your thoughts to me so we can positively impact the future of TTA members and our industry. (Email:

Watch your inbox for updates about these initiatives and others going forward. It’s a pleasure to work for you and your Texas Telephone Association.
