TTA Executive Director Update November 2020

As we enter the Holiday Season, Legislative Session looms on the horizon. Ian and John have done a great job of setting the stage for what session could look like, and how different it may be. I would like to talk a little bit about the role our legislative team and our membership will play in this important session.

Because of limitations on our access to the Capitol, we will utilize our TTA offices, located a stone’s throw from the Capitol, as our center of operations. We have several member companies with offices near the Capitol, and they will assist in coordinating legislative outreach. We are already hosting legislative staffers for weekly briefings at our office, and we plan to continue that during the session. Our extended lobby team will be working on direct access to legislators even if we all do not have access to the Capitol.

For our members, we will do our very best to keep you informed and up to date on what is happening as it happens. Unfortunately, due to Senate and House restrictions, we will not be allowed to have our traditional TTA “Day at the Capitol” this session, but we will be looking at alternatives so that our membership can connect directly with their legislators to visit about TTA’s priorities. I am committed to inclusive representation for you at our Capitol. Please reach out to me directly if you have questions or concerns, or any ideas for making our outreach more effective.
